What is the difference between backup and archive?
Backup protects recent copies so systems can be restored. Archive keeps information over the long term so it can be governed and retrieved when needed.
Where is archived data held?
Archived data is stored within Canadian borders, and our support team manages the infrastructure from Ontario. You choose where your archive is held: we can deploy it at any location in Canada to meet your data-residency requirements. We help you understand who administers it and which decisions remain with your organization.
How is retrieval checked?
Retrieval is tested as part of the service, and on request, so the archive is known to return information, not just to hold it.
Who controls access?
Your organization decides who can access, release or dispose of information. 010 supports the governance around those decisions.
How do we start?
Start with a Recovery Assurance Assessment, which includes archive and information governance.
