CPU (1 or 2) 2 GHz or greater

RAM 1-2 GB RAM or more

3. Obtain the DS-Mobile Client Installation Program

• Download the appropriate version of the DS-Client software from the website.

• Obtain a .CRI (Customer Registration Information) file from your provider. This file contains the registration information (account number, DS-Client number, DS-System address) that allows the software to connect to the 010 cloud.

4. Select your encryption keys
• Data backed up through the DS-Client is encrypted using the encryption key(s) you specify.

• Encryption keys are set once. You cannot change the key(s) once set. The DS-Client service will not be allowed to start.

• Always use 256 bit encryption and always enter an Account Key. While theoretically they can be different, ensure that the 32-character key be the same for both the Private and Account Keys.

5. Login to target installation computer
• Make sure you have logged on as the target DS-Client computer’s Administrator (or a user with equivalent privileges).

Run the DS-Mobile Client installation program

Step 1 - Run the installation file
1. Run the downloaded installation file

2. Choose a setup language: English

3. A pre-requisite check is performed on the installation machine. This scans the hardware and Operating System for compatibility, according to the hardware and software requirements stated above.

4. Click “Next”

5. The License Agreement page appears. You must accept the license agreement to continue. Click Next.

Step 2 – Select installation location
1. Specify the destination folder

• The default is C:Program FilesCloudBackupDS-Mobile Client
• To specify a different destination click the browse button and choose a different folder

2. Click Next

Step 3 – DS-Mobile Client Service Logon Account
The DS-Mobile Client Service Logon Account screen appears. You are prompted to enter the account for the DS-Client service to use.

• Choose “Local System Account” by skipping this page by leaving the fields empty and clicking “Next”
• If you specify a user, it must be a member of the Local Administrators on the local computer.

** Please make sure the password for this user account never expires.

Step 4 – Complete the installation wizard
Click in “Finish” and run the DS-Mobile Client service and user interface to continue configuring your newly installed DS-Mobile Client.

Step 5 – Perform initial configuration
After the installation is finished and the DS-Mobile Client service is running, connect using DS-User (user interface) to perform the initial configuration in order to register with the DS-System.

If the Classic DS-User cannot connect to the service check the following:

1. Make sure the service is running. It is called “DS-Mobile Client” and the process will run “dsclient.exe”.

2. Check the firewall:

• Enable incoming/outgoing port 4403 on the DS-Client computer.
• Enable outgoing port 4401, this allows connecting to the DS-System.

3. Once connected, the registration window will appear:

Mobile version installation

4. Click on “browse” to locate the .CRI file (obtained in step 3), and populate the registration information.

5. If encryption keys were not included in the CRI file, type the keys:

• Change both keys to Type “AES256”
• Type the keys (private and account), 4 times.
• Make sure to save a copy of your keys, they cannot be recovered in their original format.

6. Check the box next to “Allow encryption key forwarding to DS-System” to protect your encryption keys (an encrypted version of the keys will be saved on our servers).

7. Fill in the “User Info” area for statistical information.

8. Check the box “Connect to DS-System and verify information”

9. Click on “Save”

Step 6 – Connect to DS-System, auto upgrade running in the background
In most cases, a service pack or a hotfix will be downloaded in the initial connection to the DS-System.

If your internet connection is slow, it is recommended to download the SP beforehand (see “Before you install” above) and run it manually. In this case, run it manually before the DS-Client connects to the DS-System. CRI file can be applied to an upgraded client that hasn’t connected to the DS-System yet.

If auto-upgrade is running, please wait for the download and upgrade to finish and try to connect back once the service is running again. It will be started once the update is done.

Step 7 – Start using the DS-User to configure backup sets
In this final step, you can start configuring the DS-Client – backup sets, schedules, retention rules and other configuration that might be necessary according to your environment.
